Got my hunk of junk 67MD home from Michigan on the 24th. Took the body off and stood it up on its side. The floors are shot all over, but I can fab that up with some sheet metal and a wire welder. What I really need is the floor support crossmembers that look like "u" channels where the body mounting bolts go thru. I think I can make some crush sleeves, but searched the web to no avail.for these channels. Maybe some of you old hands know who sells these? I could fab them up but some of them are curved and that would take forever. ANYONE??? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

I've bought some from Eastwood that worked pretty well but haven't seen them lately in the catalog. Used the ones from Classic industries that came with some panels I bought. But until I discovered the two sources above I just went to the local ac contractor/metal shop rusted piece in hand. They bent as much as I needed in three or four foot lengths in regular 18 ga steel from left over scrap and seemed glad to get rid of it, for a minimal cost of course.

FYI they're also called hat channels. The web site for Jeep Panels Plus is pretty bad, but I've heard a lot of good things about them. It's a small shop, and they fab everything themselves. IIRC hat channels were less than $50 a side (screaming deal if you ask me). E-mail or call them for more info. When I get around to doing mine, I think that's who I'll go with.

Good excuse to buy a cheap $250.00 sheet metal brake and make your own. The only tough ones as you mentioned will be the curved ones. But then the brake will pay for itself over and over through the years.

If you type in "hat channels" in the search I'm sure you will find some good ones... That's how I found mine and they were only about $30 each...Just can't remember who I got them from.
