Thanks to you and the staff. For me anyway it is an icky feeling when a thread heads in that direction. We or I at least applaud you and the mods for your efforts catching and keeping on trac.[golf clap];)

I can't see how you got that trans up that high. I only had to modify the floor just a little bit.

I wanted it up as high as possible from underneath so it would not hang up on rocks. It is almost at stock height from the bottom side. I also fabbed a skid plate for it and wanted to make sure it was tucked up in.

I want to apologize for any contribution I may have made to the mean-spirited tone of this thread. That was not my intent. Believe it or not, it's really been bugging me all weekend. I was also starting to feel like this was the old days when I hung out at another bulletin board before I was told about this board and definitely don't want to go back to that. Nickmil

Scott, your firewall looks just like an engine oil pan R)

Very clever use of junkyard parts, indeed.

What type of tranny would you suggest with a 4.3L upgrade from a F-134. I plan on light off road and highway. I have a '66 cj5. Trying to decide which direction to go. I do not need a low first gear. I live in South Louisiana, no rock crawling.

Shoot, just stick with the F-134, T90/D18 combo. Properly rebuilt, that combo will likely outlive you.
