225 to 231 conversion

    Hypothetically speaking, if it was rebuild time and a person wanted to, would it be possible to bore out a 225 to 3.8" and then use stock 231 pistons? According to this article, the stroke is identical, and I'm assuming the rods would bolt right up:

    You really wouldn't want to unless you needed to bore the motor that far. Its just eating more life out of your motor by boring it that much unless its needed. The more you bore it out the more apt it is to overheat.

    Thanks for the input. That was kind of what I was thinking, but looking for wisdom to verify. I've actually changed my mind about the rebuild entirely since I posted the question and am now just going to do valves, timing chain and gaskets.
