You seem to be talking Spring shims, is that correct? Are you trying to reduce the angle, if so yes thicker to the front will tilt the pinion up.

Yes, I wondered the same thing. Axle shims and spring shims are two very different things!

Yes I am talking about axle shims. I have the thicker part to the to front to tilt the rear pinion up, I am asuming this is correct, because the axle shim on the front axle serve a completly different purpose.

Anthony, the shims you are speaking of are the spring shims, not the axle shims. Axle shims are paper-thin sheets of meteal that you use to set the axle shaft end play, they go behind the brake backing plates.

The stock setup shouls not have had any spring shims in there at all. Do you have a lift kit installed, or aftermarket springs? Did you swap an axle out?

Ok spring shims, now I have the right terminology. As far as I know they are original. I just purchased a new 2 inch lift to replace the original springs. The 2 spring shims were part of the old sping package.

Think of spring shims as temporary. If you off-road it enough eventually they will crack in the middle or wear off the ends. Someday you will just want to make new spring perches if you are happy with the angle.
