I have purchased a 2v intake for my 258, but it has what looks like water inlet/outlets on it and i was just wondering how these were used. It was said to be an '83 part.

I bought the intake online for next to nothing, so i was asking here? Somthing necessary or how was it used?

yes, on the 83 the heater hoses were routed through the intake manifold. The hose came from the waterpump outlet to the front of the intake - from the back of the intake intake to the heater core -then from the heater core back to the waterpump. I have my non-existant heater core bypassed and just route the water through the intake and back to the waterpump.

This was to help get the gas to evaporate quicker in cold start/warm up conditions. There is also a heater plate on the bottom of the intake directly below where the carb mounts. On mine the wires were cut off and I did not bother to reconnect it as I am running EFI.
