8 volt battery

    anyone know anything about using a 8 volt battery in a 6 volt system ? +'s and -'s welcomed !

    You'd have to adjust the regulator to provide proper charging voltage, not an easy job. :( The increased voltage would result in your light bulbs quickly burning out. :(:(

    Why do you want to go to 8 volts? If you're having problems new battery cables & clean connections will almost certainly fix you right up.

    Actually, except for pumping up your voltage regulator and possably throwing off your fuel gauge, there is little else to worry about. This is a common "upgrade" for 6V tractors to get a little bit more juice out of their starters. Personally, my preference is to go all the way and run a 12V system with an alternator.
