Here's a few pics of a set of flat fenders for the '69. Tube is 11ga 1", sheeting is 1/8". Strap at the grill mounts is 3/16". Top welds are ground smooth with the tube then followed with a skim coat of bondo.

nothing a hose won't squirt off.. You cannot eat off my engine :)

I've thought (and keep thinking) about working up some type of inner fender for this. Fact of the matter, the fenders posted up in this thread are already sold to a local guy. I'll be redoing another set for my '69 but want to incorporate a flare of sorts to keep debris from kicking up into the jeep. The ones in the pic were made w/1" tube. I've since acquired a 1.25" and 1.5" die, so I'll play around a bit to see what looks best.

Get ready for some business, I think you could probably sell some of those. Great work!

Yep, I think you are going to have to figure out a price on those things. Especially if you are going to make them with a bit of a flare. I would sure be interested. Shipping from CO would be expensive though.

    They look great,

Very nice. Not much bondo there either. I think the flares look great on that type of flat fender.

Did you find that the 3/16 was overkill? I was going to use 1/8 strap up the grill and for the back side. I plan to incorperate the stock inner fender on mine. Great pics, thanks for posting them!

Nah, just a bit harder to bend (I stomped on it with my size 12 until it conformed to the necessary shape :) ) I used the 3/16 only because the 1/8 that I had was a bit too wide. 1/8 should work just fine for you.
