thermostat placement

    Which side of the thermo faces the radiator and which side faces the engine? 225 V6. One side has the "tripod" surrounding the valve, the other side does not.

    The spring portion or larger end goes towards the engine, on all he thermostats I've seen this is the end that also has the temperature stamping, the tripod end towards the the rad hose.

    Easiest way to remember is understanding how it works:)
    The larger end usually has some sort of spring looking device, this needs to be in the engine coolant to open at proper temp. Or just remember like a car the ugly side downR)

    Usually they're marked somehow, like "to radiator".
