I just picked up a 231 V6 with a T14 3spd. The T14 is setup for a D20 transfer case, my D18 is the small hole one. I heared or read somewhere that you can put the guts from a D18 into a D20 case, is that true?
The other thing I wanted to ask, is dose a Buick bellhousing have the same transmission bolt pattern as other GM trasmissions( like truck ones)?

    Thanks for the information. Tom

Hello, yes you can put the gears and all the parts from a Dana 18 into a Dana 20 case to make a big hole Dana 18. If you mate the T14 to the Dana 18 gears you are going to need the correct output gear that bolts to the back of the T14 that matches the gears in a Dana 18. Novaks site has a chart that will tell you which gear you need. And, yes a Buick bellhousing uses the standard bolt pattern as Chevy or GM transmission bolt pattern.

    Hi Again,
I forgot one more thing, what size shaft for the intermediate gear do you have, as all dana 20 cases use the 1 1/4" shaft size and if your dana 18 has the smaller size you will need to change that.

I think mine has the 1 1/4" shaft, its out of a '59 CJ5. But I will check it any way. Thanks for the reminder.
