I've been working on my '67 CJ-5 and planning for future modifications. I've decided that I want to put on a 2.5" lift and larger tires, but I love the look of the factory wheels that are on it. My question is, what is the maximum width tire that the factory wheels can hold? Also, and suggestions on brand/size of tire I should look at would be appreciated!

I searched the forums for this topic, but couldn't come up with anything. If I missed it, which is very likely, please post a link! Thanks!

I think you could use either a 32 x 9.50 or a 34 x 9.50 size. Super Swamper TSL is good if you want aggressive.

    Thanks for the response!

I really like the BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A's. However, I was looking at their size chart and they don't offer a 32x9.50. They do make 33x9.50's, though. Is there a problem with the 33's versus the 32's when using the factory rims?

I would think section width (9.50 for example) is the main concern.

I have the 33 9.5 they are narrow but they fit onto my ren II al rims rather nicely.
