    It's a good conversation starter, too. Later model owners frequently ask me what the extra shifter is for.

    HOLD THE PHONE HERE SKIPPY! you can safely wind up these F heads to 3500 rpm's too?? If so... I got alot of ppl aggravated obout the goof drivin an old jeep at around 45 to 50 mph. (sorry to interupt)

    Talking about a :v6: here not an F-head in this thread. ;)

    Not sure I'd run my :hurrican: that high for an extended period of time. It has a lot longer stroke than the :v6:

    4.88's + 32" tires + OD = 2600 RPM at 65 mph.

    ive got 5:38s with 33 inch tires and a warn overdrive. perfect. i can do 60 mph at about 2200 rpm with a sbc power-plant. the warn overdrive is good for 500 rpm and works in all gears and ranges. for four wheeling you really want the low gear rearend. the overdrive would be pretty easy to install, not cheap, about $1000.00. herm might have a better price or check ebay from time to time i see one on there.
