I finally got my rig back on the trail. Finished my YJ front spring conversion. Man does it ever drive great. A little more work than I thought but that is always the case! I had a set of custom made YJ springs built that are CJ length. That took care of most of my mounting issues. Since I had every peice of my front end cut off I went ahead and reversed my shackles. Of course I found several problems with my frame and front cross member that needed fixed. Most of it I couldn't see until I had everything stripped off. I am super happy with how it drives. I took a white knuckle highway driver and turned it in to a pleasure to drive. I didn't even use my new steering shock, I wanted to try it first to see how it drove and decided not to use it. With the shackles at the rear of the front spring it does have a little different feel. That took about 5 seconds to get used to! We had it out on the trail last weekend at the Badlands in Attica, Indiana. Everything worked great and came home in one peice! I also decided to install a sway bar but I don't yet have it on. I have several pics of each step of the project if anyone is interested in doing a similar swap. I am currently working on a T-176/Dana 300 swap. I almost have everything to get started on that. As soon as the snow starts to fall I'll get in to that project. I really want the lower 1rst gear and low range. Not to mention the front bearing is out of my T-14. I do have a one year old set of front CJ springs for sale!

Wow, You have been busy. Amazing once you get the frame and suspension tightened up they actually don't drive to bad, makes them alot more fun. Glad you have yours going again.
