    Guys,

Can I use the majority of 76 CJ-5 parts on my 73 without causing too much trouble. Nothing major just bits and pieces like seats, dash, roll cage, antenna, and also is there a way that I can use a late model fuel filler nozel from a yj-tj on my 73 cj5.

Very little is the same. Hood, fenders, tailgate, engines, transfer case (but not the shifter), exterior body panels, front axle (but not the gears, or knuckles on most). You get the idea.

There were major changes in 1976. Ask before you buy any 76-on parts.

    How about a '76 dash panel in a '73?
    Is that doable?

It would probably bolt up, but the cutouts are different. The steering column and windshield holddowns would be a problem, I'd guess.

I need to replace the dash panel on my '73. The PO HEAVILY modified (made his own alum panel) the dash and used different gages. It wasn't done well at all. I went to measure for a new panel and found I don't really have a good place to start with a new layout.

I found an outfit that will modify a SS ‘76 style panel they manufacture.
Due to the steering column having been replaced as well I don't know what dimension the column cutout or overall dimensions should be.

I need to supply them with the measurements I need. I was only concerned with the column cutout, but I see the windshield latches might differ as well.

My question for the good people on the board here is: Does anyone have, or know where I can get a dimensioned layout for a 76+ dash panel, Or would anyone be willing to measure on an intermediate Jeep:
    1. Steering column center line from the left edge.
    2. Windshield latch positions from the left side.
    3. Overall height of the panel.

I think the '73 and the '76 are close in overall height and width but due to the roll bar the 76 layout might work better for me.

    Thanks!
