    Quick question,

I was thinking about puting a front tow bar on the bumper of the CJ for this year's deer season. This way I don't have to spend my life savings on Gas trying to get her up to the mountains of Norther Arizona.

I've been looking online, i.e. Collins, CJWhitney, etc... and noticed a few towbars that would work for about $165. There is also this fabrication shop here in Phoenix called 4 Wheeler's Supply that said it would be better to make a custom tow bar for that Jeep. They said something about the frame needing to be reinforced on that age of a Jeep (76).

Is what they are saying true or they handing me a line? Obviously the fabricated tow bar would be at least twice as much $$$.

    Any suggestions? :?

    Thank you!!

    $50 beans.

If anything, you might cosider running a piece of angle-iron from the back side of the front bumper to the frame, with the bolts that secure the towbar running through all three. Other than that, I think you'd be OK.

This is the same towbar that countless catalogs sell...
