Difference between t-case

    I know I have a DANA t-case but which one, I just replaced the gastket , but that works on both d18 and d20? So whats the physical difference? Also is there somewhere on the case thats stamped D-18 or D-20?

    If the rear output is offset to the passenger side its a 18. IF its centered its a 20.

    A dana 18 case has the rear output offset to the passenger side just like the front ouput, the dana 20 rear output is centered behind the transmission to transfercase input. As far as the case itself the dana 18 and dana 20 cases are identical and interchangeable so long as the dana 18 has the large 1 1/4" intermediate shaft which can be seen from the outside of the case.
