Manual steering box parts?

I have replaced the Fan gear and nut inside my manual steering box once before on my 78 CJ-5. I used the parts out of an AMC Gremlin steering box. But the years have gone by and most junk yards have crushed vehicles of that style and vintage.

My question is, does anyone know of any other compatible steering boxes, that could be used for parts?

 

Iv'e been looking myself and have not been able to even find a box that would bolt up. If your keeping it manual FLAPS could get you a rebuilt box for about $150.00. I'm going to have to do it. By the time I found one used in another state the cost plus shipping came close to $100.00 with no garuntee that it was in good shape. my .02

 

Thats my concern, when I got the gremlin box I paid $25 for the box, took out the gears and put them in my box. I was told others would work, but I can't remember WHAT other were compatible.

q tech sells a rebuild kit with the fan gear.

 

Pretty sure it'll be a Saginaw box. If so, it will have an S cast into it somewhere IIRC. There aren't that many suppliers of steering gears.
