What is an acceptable "range" of RPM's for a 258 on the highway for extended periods? Ive seached some and seen anywhere from 2500 up to 5k. This sound right?

    Thanks!

For 100km/h (60 mph) My I6 give me about 2500 rpm.

I've made up a chart for this, because my speedo does not work anymore, and I have an aftermarket tach, so with the chart, I know that with my drivetrain, at around 2500rpm in 3rd high, I'm at about 60

I always try to keep mine about 2800 rpm. Dunno how many MPH that is, my speedo hasn't worked in years.

I wouldn't worry about it. You'll run out of power way before you run out of RPMs. A 258 in good condition should be able to run between 3000 and 4000 RPM indefinitely.
