66 CJ Steering Box

    I'm looking for good rebuild guide for the Ross Box steeering in a 66 CJ5 with V6 engine.

    Also, what gear lub should I use in the steering box? My Chilton says SEA80W90.

    don't know of anyone who makes a rebuild for it. Best bet is to post a wanted to buiy add in the classified section...

    Turner 4wd will sell you all the parts you need.

    Replacing the bushings is a hassle, so if you aren't leaking from the pittman arm area you might want to leave that part alone.

    In fact, you may want to leave the whole steering box alone -- what are the symptoms you are seeing that make you think that the box needs rebuilding??

    If it is steering wander, I'd look elsewhere for the solution...
