I have a 72 cj5 with a 232 2wd.I am pretty sure that the jeep has been modified but wanted to know what carb came stock with the engine it has a 6199S but it has an adapter plate from carb to intake dont think that is stock Also number on block doesnt match number on intake Is this wrong.I bought this jeep for fun camping putting around town and know nothing about jeeps my first one.I dont want to sell because it doesnt leak oil starts when float not stuck and runs strong but more its fun to drive. Any input would be greatly appreciated you guys know a lot about these jeeps.Pics coming soon this is the first 2wd jeep I have ever seen didnt know they made them.I hope this is not the last jeep I buy.

    your assumption is correct
carb not factory for that year of engine/Jeep (or any other year)
if it works well, why bother ?

according to my book, YF-6288 would be the 1972 factory carb/number

    FYI - 2WD is not a CJ-5; instead a DJ-5 (dispatcher Jeep).

They were built with both the open body (like the CJ) and with the hard-top postal body with sliding doors. The postals are called DJ-5A,B,C etc.
