I found a steering column tube assymbly with bearings on the jc whitney site for $28. They list 49-71 4 cyl manual steering (no shaft length listed). Before I contact them does anybody know if this might work on my 75 with a 258 ??? I would post a link but havn't figured that out yet.

    Thanks, Terry

More than likely not. '49 - '71 were the Ross steering box that was mounted under the floor boards. Not the Saginaw.

good luck finding one through an auto parts place. i broke my column about 11 years ago, and tried hundreds of places to find one.

i ended up scouring the local boneyards to come up with one. that's probably going to be your best bet.

Do you have access to a lathe the lower bearing would be an easy part to make.

That is what I did with mine. I searched all over and could not find one.
Had a local machine shop make me one $30, still works great.
