Manual heater valve source

I know there has been discussions in the past on this so I thought I would post the thread I found while looking for something else. Go to the bottom of the page for the manual cable operated ones.

Basically the discussions I remember were if the valves were present. Some said they were used to control the amount of coolant going into and out of the heater core. This would vary the amount of heat coming in. More coolant then more heat and vice versa.

I figured some of you doing full blown restos may want the link.

 

That's cool! My '56 has a manual screw-type valve on the back of the head to increase/decrease the water flow. Looks like a real pain to adjust.

 

if you are using a cable operated valve, go to Ford. these inline valves were stock on most of their mid 60's to late 70's cars and trucks. Run about $20 last time I checked.

 

there have been a couple original willys NOS ones on ebay lately,
