:( IN my 59 cj5 when I get into places that I had to hold hard pressure
on the brakes my clutch wouldnt come back up so I knew it was time to rebuild the pedals. I went to Kragie to get parts the pivot shaft was backordered:( today i finally got all the parts to rebuild the clutch linkage John Kragie promised me that the yoke wouldnt fall offthe pivot ball when I changed the cable ANyway the yoke fell off:oops: SO now I'm
pulling the engine out to repair the yoke
I dont guess I'll be wheeling in the 59 this holiday may have to use the waggy
Sorry no pics i really dont want to remember this day:mad:

are you talking about the clutch fork? if so... you dont need to pull the engine. just get the inspection plate off the top of the tranny trough the tranny hump... you should be able to reach in and grab the fork and put it back where it belongs... takes a lot of patience and a few hand cramps but its doable.

well mines a flattie but as far as i know all the T-90's have an inspection plate at the top of the transmission. i was lucky because i could unbolt my tranny hump right off the floor and then unbolt the inspection cover off the transmission. its a tight fit, but you can get a hand in there... and i dont have small hands either.
i can tell you for sure that you wont be able to get to it from underneath... your only option is to go from inside the jeep... but i dont know if your tranny hump comes off or not...
    that make any sense?

the tranny hump does come off BUT I've already removed the fenders, grill, rad. and starter so i might as well go ahead and pullthe eng. I've had bushings for the ross box for months so it will be easier to do with the engine out. Wouldnt you Know the 65cj5 RIP in the shop under the hoist and will have to be pulled out so i canget the 59 in

Sounds like the classic case of, "Well, as long as I'm this far into it, I might as well ..." R) R) BTDT.

well I got the engine back in this weekend. Sure was a lot of trouble for a clutch linkage anyway while the eng was out I rebult the ross box, new front motormounts. fixed all the exaust leaks, had to replace all the ex manifold studs after 3 broke off ,rewired the engine compartment-the PO had tapedjust about every wire with yellow elect.tape welded up several cracks in the firewall & trans cover, nad fixed a leaky oil pressure guage line. I still like the front fenders but at least its running again. I'm going to kragie's tomorrow to try to find a used right fender If i cant find one I might cut the ones i have and make flatfenders out of them.
