Little Restoration Details For 79 CJ5

My dad and I are restoring my 1979 CJ-5. It's having it's original AMC 304 professionally rebuilt right now. The body is off the frame and the Jeep is in a million pieces all over our warehouse. I want to include as many original decals, emblems, etc. as possible when putting everything back together. Is there any way to find out exactly which decals and emblems came on which models? For instance, the Jeep and CJ-5 badges on the back? Any AMC engine decals? And I have looked everywhere for an original 1979 horn cover. Right now I'm using a plastic aftermarket horn button. Any tips on how to make everything stock for this particular model would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

First off, welcome aboard!

There will be others chiming in that may have better info on this than I, but I would start looking for 1979 model year photos and match them up. Also, I am certain there has to be some sort of outlet for these once you figure out what you need. There may be someone on here with a factory parts catalog as well that can help. Good Luck!

Welcome.. from Hendersonville NC... i am running in circle trying to find some orignal stickers as well.... i have found the shifting and the 4wd sticker that goes on the dash on ebay under cj5.. if find any more just post were you found them.... good luck.. keep jeeping
