    Hello,
I can weld and have acces to lots of metal. I was wondering if there is a way to add weight to the bottom of my jeep without making it lower. I would like to make it harder to tip so lowering the center of gravity should help. I do not want to make shelves or anything to add weght down low because then I'll bottom out. Could I run small I beams parellel to the frame to lower the center of gravity or something else, any ideas are welcome.

IMHO a lot of effort for what it would gain you:

    - Slower acceleration
    - Worse gas mileage
    - Longer braking distances
    - Increased wear and tear on all drivetrain components including suspension.
    - Possibly worse handling - more sprung weight.

Do you have problems rolling the Jeep?

You should really get a roll cage before you go offroading.

you could start with a rear mounted gas tank. that always helps. maby some heavy warn bumpers
are you still driving on the origional springs? getting new ones will help stiffen up the ride so it wont feel so tippy

Put a TJ skid plate under it, they're good for holding a few hundered pounds of rocks and mud! :)

Yep, if you want alot of weight, go with Rockwells and a 502 Ramjet, and a big winch up front and maybe one in the rear. That should fix you right up.

Widetrack axles will help too. Doesn't lower the center of gravity but it makes the base wider so it does not tip as easy.

If that's your Jeep in your avatar I wouldn't be to worried about rolling it. They're actually a lot more stable than they feel like. You don't want to add more sprung weight since that weight will "transfer" during cornering making body roll worse. If body roll is a problem or the Jeep just feels unstable, a new set of springs and shocks will probably do you wonders. A stock set can be had for a few hundred dollars. My Jeeps sits quite a bit higher than yours:

I admit that I drive it quite aggessively and I've never come close to rolling it.

Okay all good suggestions, I am in the process of making a roll cage to fit. Alkready have rear gas tank and heavy bumper on rear. Maybe I'll replace the shocks. I haven't actually rolled it but going about 15 on a curve with barely any incline the passenger can almost reach and touch the ground. This with a 2 in. lift.

Wow, those must be some soft springs. We have a 90* decreasing radius turn in town here known as "dead man's curve." I can take comfortably at about 30mph with very little body roll. Who made the lift kit you have in your Jeep?

Fill your tires with water, or antifreeze for northern climates.:)
