Rear Differential Seal Replacement

    I spent the better part of the weekend replacing the seal on the rear differential of my 59 CJ5. There has to be an easier way. I thought I'd never get the yoke off the pinion. I don't even want to tell you how I finally got it off.

    Any tips on this? Its mostly an academic question at this point, but there is still the front seal...

    I used a bfh on mine. best way to remove a seal is with a seal puller. It looks like a "T" with the ends tapered.

    Use a two jaw puller to remove the yoke....

    Impact for the nut, then two jaw puller. seal puller is good too.
