I am about to do a springover with the lift i have now which will give me about 11 inches. I called toms and asked how much it costs to make a driveshaft for that but they said that they could only make a driveshaft for up to 8 inches of lift. What do I do?

    Buy lotsa u-joints.

Are you serious? 11 inches of lift in a CJ-5?

If it were me, I'd pass on the SOA.

I would just find some stock springs and do the spring over. That much lift on a narrow, short wheelbased Jeep is going to be really tippy on the street or trail.

    I wouldn't try it.

I used to run the 4" skyjacker springs on my 75 CJ-5 without a SOA. They were extremely soft, and did not last. No skinny soft spring is going to last with trail use. I upgraded to wider springs for durability. If you are doing a soa, stock wranglers don't seem to last either. I added leaves to a stock wrangler pack to help them out. My preference would to have installed 1.5" lift wrangler springs. Check out my post on the 98" CJ-5. My lift is a little too high, your proposed lift is going to be even higher. Virtually any driveshaft issue can be solved, but if you are going that high, you may want to consider making your jeep wider and longer. We all face the same dillemas.

You might try to angle your engine/transfer case so it points down and run a cv joint like I just did. Here is my new driveline, but I just run a 2.5 lift with some taller shackles, spring under, and you can see how steep my drive line is. Good luck! Kinda of a cute drive line ehh? It is only 13" long!:)
