Jeep from theTwighlight Zone!!!

Okay this is freaking me out!!!:toetap: My 70 has never been on the street since I've owned it, this was due to a faulty transfer case without high range and the brakes where always screwy. I decided to pull a fast one on the cops and swap the lic plate, then drive to town slow and carfully to get parts for the 71 Daily D! The transfer case would always go into high range but would pop out when you let out the clutch, The brakes were always mushy and rears wouldn't work at all, so I used it to run fences and such for the past 3 yrs. Well I got in it and decided to take off and it stalled in second. I looked down and my son had moved the stick into high range ,so I tried it and drove to town ,the brakes worked great(still no rears though) and the transfer stayed in high. I shifted it into low and droveit in the yard, then it shifted like silk back into high and stayed for anothertrip to the gate getting on it hard too.
I've never had a transfer fix it'self but It had sat for 18 years before I bought it. Maybe rust wouldn't let the gears mesh for high but it works now!

to get proper lubrication, you must go on a death wish ride.

 

Most of the cops in my area wouldn't know a a cj from a xj from a yj or a sj. in fact i've ran my CJ5 for months at a time with the plates and reg.
off my waggy the vin plate off the cj5's are in the top of my tool box :driving:
glad everything freed up

 

You need to drive my jeep and see if the radio will fix itself.

 

Maybe I could just drive mine and the paint would fall off.
