Hey guys, the bleeder valve hole is stripped on one of my rear drums, so on the advice of a friend, I'm looking to replace the brake cylinder. My problem is that part of the housing is preventing me from getting a socket or even a wrench in there to repair it.

Below are some pictures, the red arrows show where the narrow sections are. Any ideas would be great!

I had a closed end wrench with a pretty thin wall already, I ground the edge a little more like half the thickness and had just enough bite to get them loose.

Can you get in there with a Dremel or a die grinder with a small wire brush? Maybe if you can clean the area up real good it'll help.

And yeah, I've ground box-end wrenches and sockets thinner too. Works fine.

    Nice photos, BTW.

As recommended by someone on JCCA, I got in there with a wire wheel and then went @ it w/ a 1/4" drive socket and managed to get it off.
