I am looking for some ideas for an od boot. The flat rubber ones Herm sells won't work, it needs to be like a small tcase boot that can flex when shifting. I am looking at my new twin stick boot like this one:

Half of this would be perfect plus it would match nicely. I am seriously considering cutting one in half and making a trim ring for it. Anyone know of a similar boot already being made?

    Thanks, Chris

I've been looking at the same boot, thinking the same thing. I mounted my OD lever in front of my twin sticks so the flat boot won't work and there isn't room for a round boot. Please post what you finally come up with.

if there was enough room between the halves I would split one with you :)

looks like it would need to be cut right up to the edge though.

I have not found a single stick boot narrow enough to fit where the stick is. half of the one shown would do the trick but I agree that you would have to destroy the second boot to wind up with enough flange left to isntall securely.

Could you be a little more specific? The single stick boot for a d18 is a flat piece of rubber.

I have looked at many single stick boots but have not found one that is similar to half of the twin. If you know of one please post a link or pic here.

I ended up using half of a twin stick boot. It's a little tight, but it should loosen up with use.

Getting everything covered up has been a lot more work then I originally planned, but am very happy now that the jeep is quiet and cool.

    Thanks, Chris

    David, looks great.
what is the cable and lever on your TC shifter?
can you post a closer pic of the boot and how you attached it?

David was just replying to my post ;)

I will get a better pic tomorrow for you. The cable is a hand throttle used on the rough trails. Works great, it is hard to keep your foot on the pedal when you are bouncing around.

    Thanks, Chris
