Ideas needed - I need some brain power!

I am looking for some photos or ideas for a battery tray for a 71 cj5 with a 225 in it. It has a fiberglass body and I did not think just tagging a cj tray on the firewall would be a great idea due to the strength issues. Should it be tied into the frame? I seen a couple photos here of some dual battery setups, but the batteries are in place. Can't see the brackets very well.
Perhaps move the battery to the rear? Not sure about this one. I put a rear tank in to get this stuff out of passenger compartment.

    Thanks for the help.

Seems like the 'glass bodies are reinforced in that area for a battery tray? Do you know who made the body?

Mine had a stock cj tray on the firewall. It did have some steel reinforcing behind it on the inside of the firewall. I made up a tube that mounted to the front of the battery tray and went down and bolted to the angled part of the floor/firewall. Seemed to work ok.

Smashed down each end of the tube and put a bolt thru it. Basicly the tube was bolted flat to the angled floor and kept going up at an angle so it hit the front of the battery tray. I'll see if I can find a pic, but not sure if I ever took one of it.

Mine's mounted right on the firewall. I need a good hold down on it rather than the bungee.

The body manufacture is a mystery. I know it is not AJ's for sure.

would use 1/8" srapping on the inside for extra bracing. Then run a piece of angle iron rom the front of the tray down at an angle to the body near the frame.

All good ideas here, i'll give it try. I'll need to find a battery tray out of cj7 with the brace. That'll be a good start.

    Thanks all

When I bought mine, it had just the battery tray bolted to the firewall. Didn't look too good to me, so I made some 2"X2" 1/8" angle pieces that go inside from the top clear down to the floor board bend and bolted everything back up. Not too sure if it is bullet proof, but I don't plan on leaping tall buildings with it.
