Can anyone point me in the direction for where to purchase and engine rebuild kit? The Jeep that I just drove home from Connecticut smoked most of the way. I put a can of restore in it and that didn't help much. I figure the valve seals are pretty much shot. I want to put new ones on but can't seem to find them. If anyone knows where to look for good tips on doing that or has any, that would be great.

Also, on the drivers side of the tub., if looking from the outside, there is a little metal problem I think. Where the metal is flat where teh bottom part of the doors sit when the hard tip is one and then curves up 90' and goes up towards the windshield... The metal that is parallel to the ground in that curve is fine-no rust, etc. The metal below it on the outside, perpindicular to the gound bulges out and flexes a bit as I drive. It is almost like there are 2 sheets. The inside I can feel from the inside of the tub and it appears solid although covered in tar. If I poke it from the outside with a kay, it is solid. The reason I noticed it is the flexing broke the paint. Should I be worried about this. I am for 2 reason, one is it now is almost like a basin and can catch rain between the two layers. The second is for structural concerns. Any suggestions on how to fix this, or anyone in the Tennessee are recomend a good Jeep body person?

Third, the speedometer doesn't work. It just hangs out around 35 to 45 and floats. It does go to 0 when you stop. The odometer turns, but only shows about 2/3 of actual miles as your drive.

Finally, there are leaks everywhere underneath. I assume that this means I need to buy new gaskets for everything and install?

    Thanks,
    Robert

-Oh, and I will have a picture up soon!

Autozone has good rebuild kits for a Dauntless.

If it smoked that good your valve guides are shot. There were no valve seals on these stock.

My cam kit came with 'em when I put new springs in I put seals in recently.

The leaks underneath are normal. Seriously! You can work to seal them up pretty well, but the D18 is notorious for leaking. :)
