I saw this auction on ebay yesterday morning. i had some emails back and forth with the seller and ended up buying them from him last night as he was willing to end the auction early. i picked these up for a such a great deal it felt like i was stealing!

4 are all the same and are just like the one pictured. the 5th is a spare and is a different style. the 5th has bumps on it where a center cap would pop on. the other 4 (as seen in the picture) are all smooth and do not accept a center cap. i am no authority on 16" rims, but based on my research, these 4 appear to be correct for an early CJ. can anyone confirm this?

are there any markings or stamps on the rims to confirm their authenticity? i do not know the width of the rims. i will be removing the tires this weekend to check it out. thanks for any input.

There's another thread here with a great discussion on 16" rims.If they're 4.5" wide they're CJ, 5" wide they're pickup. (Not gospel on this , just what I've read.) They look like CJ from the pic but hard to tell, any extra litte hole near the lug holes? That supposedly indicates M38A1. FWIW, I picked up a set of 4 rims last weekend off an M38a1, original to the JEEP which spent the last decade of so in service to the local Fire Dept. They have the little "extra hole", OD paint under the FD green and yellow, And......... recapped NDT tires with a date in the tire casing of 1952! HTH

Can I ask what you gave for them? I just bought five for $120. Four are Motor Wheel and one is K-H.

i got all 5 for $100. the seller said he had 7 emails about them in the 12 hours the auction ran. i offered him 100 and without hesitation he told me to take them away. i bet i could have left with them for 75, but i couldn't get too greedy. this weekend i'll have a chance to check them out and hopefully determine exactly what they are.

Sounds like ya got a good deal! Shame you had to take the nasty old tires too. Four of my rims were naked, only one had a tire.

I was at Harry Sheets (Midwest Willys) in Crawfordsville, IN today and he had literaly 30-40 original wheels maybe more for Jeeps, Trucks, Wagons etc. Not sure on brands, but if it ain't Jeep or Willys, he doesn't keep them. Don't quote me but I think he said he gets $25 a wheel. May be worth a call or email josheets@tctc.com .

He lists thing frequenty on Willys Tech.

He was disassembling a CJ5 JEEP that had nearly perfect fenders and a ver straight rockers/sides, little rust in the floors, perfect windshield.

He's planning on attending a Farm/Tractor Jeep Show this weekend in Rankin, IL and couold probably bring parts to meet you and save shipping.

    Tell em Art sent ya!

I bought three seats from Harry, nice guy. He and Jo delivered them to Colorado when they came to vacation at her sister's. She doesn't live far from me, all I had to do was go get 'em.
