I have the same problem. My rollbar is just bolted to my body on the wheel wells. Have a rectangular plate underneath the body to sandwhich it in place. I do NOT have it connected to the frame (yet) and I am currently looking for a kit to do so.

I'm sure an experienced welder could make something up very easily, me I'm afraid of fire and gas...8)

Fiberglass tubs are stronger then you think. Provided they are sandwiched with plate so that the bolts can't pull through the glass you should be okay for most uses.

If you are going to attach your cage to the frame you need to have some sort of bushing between the mounting point to the Frame and the glass body. If you don't it will stress crack the body (Frame and body move at differant rates because of the rubber body mounts). I would suggest using a spring bushing in a tube at the frame.

    hope this helps a little.

Same here. I have a HUGE chunk of steel under there in the wheel well. Whenever a piece of gravel comes out of my treads, and smacks that thing, it sounds like a rifle going off!

There's a thread here somewhere from a couple weeks ago where we talked about this.

I posted a pic I stole from Jeepforum of a bushing mount setup there.

I have my set of spring bushings and some left over tube to frame mount mine. I plan to use some thick rubber matting between my tub and the bottom plate also. Another thing to keep in mind is the top side plate and the bottom side plate should not be the same size or it will act like a shear. But now I have found out that before I can do that I need to cut out all of my body mounts... Seems the PO cut the mount bushing material anywhere from 1.5 inches to 2.5 inches. :(

Well I got some work done on my rear bumper today. Got a picture of how I am doing my frame tie in for the roll bar.
