What can be done to get a working parking brake on an early CJ? I went wheeling yesterday and I could not stay put on the trail unless it was completely flat or I shut it down and put it in gear. There must be something that can be done about this. Perhaps line locks? I'm not sure since I have little experience with drum brakes besides remembering my old YJ barely had a parking brake.

The existing transfercase mounted parking brake works fine for me... Look
    into rebuilding yours...

Phil there's a spot for adjusting it underneath. Look for the threaded portion of the cable where it meets the actuating arm of the x-fer case brake. :)

Thanks Alan. I'll look for that when the Jeep comes home.

All parts are from All Pro Off Road for a Toyota application. I only have 1 pic right now and it took a little fabrication for the bracket but it works great.

    Caliper $89.00
    Rotor $59.00
Used Blazer foot parking brake pedal $10.00 junkyard
    Cable from local hardware $5.00
    pulley from garage - free.

I went to dics on the rear with cadallac calipers. But I have not figured out the parking brake set up yet.
