I need some input from you guys.

do you guys use the baffle ( i mean windage tray/ splash pan) on the 225 oil pan? I had one that a rod destroyed, and just purchased another from somone on here, does anyone have a pic of how it goes on, I have not had a baffle on the jeep for a while, also is it neccesary? can you install a oil pan with no gasket and just some sealant? or what do you guys use for the oil pan gasket sealant or do you use sealant at all???

one more I also aquired a new oil pick up as my old one was also damaged in the rod throwing party my jeep had, the old one has that button on the bottom of the screen that if you push it in oil comes out is that just a check valve to keep oil at the pump at start up? the new one i aqquired does not have this... is it needed or should i be ok usintg the one without the button deal on the bottom?????

    thanks guys

If I recall, the pan has no baffle; there might be a splash pan/windage tray that bolts up to the crankcase covering the rear of of the crankcase. Mine has one and is in place.

I would always use an oil pan gasket plus sealant of some kind.

No button in the screen I can think of, at least not on mine. If there is, I would think to prevent the screen from sucking up to the bottom of the pan; a spacer creating a gap for oil to always flow up into the tube.

Maybe someone who has had their V6 apart more recently can comment on that.

the button is not poking out of the screen, but is flush with the screen im thinking it is a check valve of some sort to keep the oil up in the suction tube?????? i just want to make sure it would be ok if i used a suction screen that does not have that.... thanks for the reply windage tray is what i meant,,,, i will need to see how that bolts up does anyone have a pic of that by chance???? and what would you guys reccomend as far as adhesive for the gasket and pan?
