I am having a big problem with the high/low shifting on my dana 20 t-case, I can't get it fully engaged in 4-high or 2-high and I know little to nothing about dana t-cases. I called around and they want 350.00 just to check it out. I figured thats because it's not stock and they have to pull it and take it apart. I'm a poor boy and can't affored half of that. the jeep had a dana 18 when I bought it but the "sneaky sub rock" torpedoed the case so I converted to dana 20 and changed the rear-end.
now my front driveline is too short, and he's stuck in low or he won't move. It sounds like it engages but when you let off the clutch it pop's out. I checked the detent balls and found no balls or springs.

    HELP!!!!!!

First you need to fix the detent situation. That might be your whole problem. Then check your linkage for movement, make sure the rods are moving as far as they need to.

If your sitting in the passengers seat looking at the t-case the right hand rod moves to 3 positions. the left hand will move to the rear fine but when it goes to the front the jeep will move but pops out and the rod moves back. I was told by a friend I might have the wron output gear on the tranny? I did change it but maybe the teeth are curved the wrong way?
