Fuel gauge Wiring

    I am dinking around with my fuel gauge trying to get it to work / read correctly. I think I have the problem pinpointed to the sending unit but I have a question on the wiring diagrams found in the tech section. My stock fuel gauge has three terminals marked S, A, & L. The "S" is for the sending unit, "A" is where the jumper bar & oil and amp light wires go, and I assume the "L" is for the line in (12V). Is this correct or is it not used? This third terminal on the fuel gauge isn't shown on either wiring diagram.
