    Installed the fork to night.
Read about an hour worth info here on the subject and still have one question.

How much free movement in the fork is allowable. I have about 1/2" or so, seems like to much to me.

    Opinions? Experiences?

    Thanks all.

I have a 225 with sm420 behind it sitting on the shop floor ready to go it the next jeep project. It has almost 3/4" of travel at the end of the fork.
I'm not worried about mine, It was working before It was taken apart, If I had no freeplay I would worry.

by the way, once set your freeplay at the pedal, your linkage/cable or what ever you use is only going to let the thowout bearing slide back about 1/16 or so away from the preasure plate.

If the gears clash when shifting, it's too much play.
