Purchased a new brake line tool

After finding that the split bar clamp in my 2nd double flare tool set (NAPA/KD 2199) would not grip the tubing properly, I decided to try another more expensive tool. NAPA was kind enough to exchange the 2199 for a 2190 set (as long as I paid the difference - $65 ).

I know it's expensive (about $85 online), but I was sick of screwing around and wasting my time and bulk brake tubing.

So after putting the little guys to bed for the night, I headed out to the garage to give it a try. I'm very pleased. The first two flares were beautiful and the line I already tried to make three other time with the old tool was finished on the first.

    Here'a a write-up I found on the web:

I am very pleased, despite the $$$.

I got a double flare tool from NAPA, worked fine until the very last flare, and the darn little adapter tip broke on my 3/16 line. Got it flared just enough to go ahead and install. So far so good. :) I gotta get that replaced just in case I need it again.
