Starter woes...

If it's not one thing, it's another....
I've searched the threads here, and really couldnt find anything...
Anyone know of a source for a replacement starter for 65 134-F head? I've tried the local places...nothing in the books. How about a direct drop in replacement from a different vehicle? I'm sure someone out there had to deal with this at one time or another...
I wonder if a starter out of a 1972 Pinto would work

Look in your local phone book for shops that rebuild alternators and starters. You also might ask at your FLAPS for a starter for a later F134, say from a '67~'69 or so. See how far back the F134 goes and see if that compares to yours. IIRC, the main difference would be tooth count on the starter gear.
