Is a 74/75 scout a good donor for Disc brake setup for a 74 cj? mainly bracket/caliper mount?

Typically the disc conversion uses the 1 1/8" thick rotors. Don't know if the Scout uses those or not. There may be a difference in the bolt pattern between the Scout and the Jeep caliper brackets also.

IF the Scout has discs it can be done. '74-'75 could have either disc or drum so double check. The Scouts have 8 bolt caliper brackets and spindles so you will either have to redrill the spindle and caliper bracket or redrill your knuckles. It's do-able, that's what I have on the front of my CJ-6. You may have to grind your knuckle for caliper clearance also depending on which front axle you have. The Scouts do use the 1 1/8" rotors. Almost easier if you have them available in your area to use do the Chev caliper bracket conversion. Oh, yeah, the Scout uses the same locking hub as a Jeep dana 30 as well as the same bearing hub and same rotor as '77-'78 CJ. Nickmil
