I'm looking to add a Oxy-Acetelyne welding set-up to my tool box. Looking thru the www.cyberweld.com site; there are light, medium and heavy duty torches that "appear" to only increase the thickness of metal you can cut. For a good all around set-up, what is the concensus? (I'm leaning toward the Smith medium duty kit) TIA:)

I got THIS ONE. Has done pretty much what I wanted it for, light materials welding/torching. I bought a few more tips that let me have more selection. Honestly, with the mig welder and plasma cutter, I just don't know that I need anything bigger. If you don't have a mig or plasma, then maybe as big as you can afford wouldn't be a bad approach. At the same time, you need to ask some questions pertaining to what you really expect to use it for/on, and what other tools you plan on purchasing.

I've got a MIG, but was looking for a gas set-up for lighter duty sheetmetal, heating, cutting etc... As long as I could cut up to an inch, it should work for my needs.

I have mig (miller 175) and Oxy-Acetelyne (Cutting with 4 straight and 3 scarffing tips) and 6 welding tips. I used to use the Oxy for welding, when I only had a big Arc setup, now I use the Oxy for cutting mostly. I am looking to get a Henrob setup for the small work and more exact cutting (I have seen it work and tried it a couple times - very impressive).

i have smith medium duty. i really like using it. i can get a nice soft flame for welding if i need it. i may add either a henrob or a smith little torch form really fine work or thin sheet.

the mc00 cutting tip goes through 1/4" plate like butter with a very small kerf.

i bought mine from "weldfabulous" on ebay. decent price $239 w/free shipping from MN. very fast shipping. i've gotten a couple of tips from him as well.

yep. i followed your link. i had looked at cyber weld before.

this guy is out of minnesota. you can email him via ebay if you wish for questions. he was pretty patient. seems to be extremely honest.

the 205 welding tip is pretty big for sheet. i also picked up a 201 tip and will probably get a 203 and a 207 when i sell some stuff.

he also sells the spark arrest modules but the price is about average $35 for package of 2 (1 gas, 1 oxy)
