Ok, thanks to the thread a few days ago I got my drums and hubs seperated. I have the swaged variety, no screws. So, now... how do I get my hubs and my new drums to come together?? The little teethy thingy (have no idea what it's really called) at the bottom of the lug is larger than the hole in the brake drum (by design, I guess, cuz that's what was holding them together before). Is it safe/ok to just drill out the holes on the drums a little larger, or is there some other voodoo I have to perform?

DO NOT DRILL - those need to be pressed in. Local shop can do it for a couple bucks (or a buddy with a press). Those teeth keep it from spinning when you tighten the lug nuts.

Can't you just thread the lug nut on backwards and press the drum back on over them?

Maybe I misunderstood his question...looks to me like he's asking about putting the drums back on over the original studs, and not about replacing the studs in the hubs?

In other words, can he put the freshly turned drums back on without swaging the studs again, and can he drill the holes in the drums out just a little bit to clear the old swaged part of the studs? I personally don't see why not, the wheels and nuts will hold the drums tight on the hubs, I don't understand why they're swaged to begin with.

THAT'S what I'm going for. The studs are still in the hubs, the studs are fine and I see no need to replace them, especially since I don't have the means to do it myself. I just need to get the drums back on the hubs.

If that is what your doing, It is OK to open them up a little. Try to keep them as close to the lug as possible to keep them from moving.

Scott - only do them that way if you don't have a press. It is tough to get them on square and sometimes the teeth stick through some... then you have to use a spacer to get them on all the way.
