Hello every one. After finally removing the axles and powr lock (what a pain that was) I have discoverd a mess. Basically everything looks destroyed. The bolts holding the unit together did in fact break off inside. The spider gears are toast! What would be the most cost effective way to repair this diff. I am open to all suggestions. Like I said earlier, I am planning using this jeep around town and some light trails near my house. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also need a new hub, got a little carried away and frustrated with the puller I was using. Thanks.

I have two just like that. After the first one I thought we had not torque it, so we put in a secound one, Same problem.I found that my axle was bent and so was the tube housing. Torn it all down to get it straightend. Then one thing led to another and now I am putting in a locker, full floater, and disc Brakes.

What does the inside of the axle housing look like where the bolts were gouging forward of the R/H axle? Take a pic of the bearing cap damage too( holds in the R/H bearing into the axle housing). Your going to need a replacement carrier or powerlock. Installing a stock differential would be the cheapest.

Where in AZ are you? Can point you to a few different places depending on your location. Can't help with the PowrLok though.

With your intended use an open differential would suit your needs fine. As mentioned it's the cheapest route also.

You can probably get the hub from Krage or 4 Wheel Parts Hardware. I'd vote for an open diff also. I would think you could pick one up for less than $100
