    Well done article, got me to thinking about the 2 engine stands in the garage. At a 750lb rating on each one I think it'll work!

    I did see an article on the web from a guy who made one from three engine stands. He cut up the third one to modify the other two, which he used for the ends. As I remember, he lengthened the base arms and increased the height to the pivot point. You can probably find the article by googling.

    The reason I didn't go that way was that I would have at least $120 invested in three stands and I wasn't sure what they were made out of. Probably metric tubing. Plus the wheels were too small. If you have two stands already, it might work for you.

    I was just going through this thread, looking for the scrapyard addy and I saw this post. Did you ever build one? If so, how did it turn out?
