So I'm cleaning up my new drums, giving them a coat of primer/paint. Should I worry much about getting some overspray on the drum lining, or can I safely assume a bit of braking will clean that off?

I think you should send them to me to have them powdercoated! :D

A little shouldn't hurt, but don't shortcut by not masking the lining.

Your best bet would be to tape the contact area, that way you know you won't have a problem.

No brainer, Brian! Release your Dutch grip on a few feet of masking tape, fer cryin' out loud!:D And you can always wipe off any overspray with a rag and a little acetone or lacquer thinner.

lol... yeah I know. Actually I had already painted the outsides of the drums when this thought crossed my mind. I'm not sure if any overspray got on or not because they were still wet and I couldn't turn them over.
