   anyone offhand know the size of the spindles used for the tire carrier? for some reason i am thinking it is a larger diameter to fit in a 2x4 bumper. I dont have one in front of me to see.

   This is the same one I used. The tube is one piece machined down for the races and not 2 two pipes welder together to create a sleeve for the races. I used 2x4x3/16 steel for my bumper.
