Ok I just wanted to do a quick check here, I looked around and couldn't find a for-sure answer:

For the 11" brake swap, are they the same backing plates front and rear? Just looking at my original 9" brakes the backing plates look the same, just wanted to see if that was for sure the case.

Normally the 11" rears have provisions for a parking brake...

That's a change to the backing plate itself?

I haven't gotten my rears apart yet so I can only see the one side. ;)

I bought two sets of them from '76 and '78 DJ5's, and I have the part numbers written down at home. I can post them tonight if you want them.

The 72 Waggys are the same front and rear except for a small bulge in the rears Where the parking brake cable comes through. I believe that's the only difference. Bolt pattern should be the same.

Well I've decided just to do the fronts for now anyway... I'd like to get my frame rolling on it's own wheels before I leave in a little less than a month. I've got my front axle torn down and I'm in the process of re-assembly and painting. The rear, though, is still completely together - meaning if I run out of time I can throw the wheels on it and strap it in.

There is a difference in left and right The opening to gain acess to the adjuster must be towards the rear of the vehical. ( ask me how I know).

Parking brake cable enters from the same direction on both sides too so there's another reason for left and right.

Well I sure am happy I found a set of backing plates. Got everything else to do the front brakes for a grand total of $130.35. So in the ballpark of $150 for the front brakes instead of $250 for an R&P/Herm kit, and the only used part will be the backing plates. 8)
