I think I've mentioned this before, and didn't follow through with it, but I'm ready to fix it now.

I have an '84 CJ7 with hard 1/2 doors from a '95 YJ. I bought a Bestop Supertop that's supposed to fit everything from a '81 CJ7 to a '95 YJ. Obviously mine falls within this category, but is kind of a 1/2 breed with the doors.

Everything fits fine except at the rear curtain. I think this is a common problem so I'm hoping someone can tell me how to overcome it.

With a YJ the tailgate swings open to the side so the curtain is fastened to it's channel, then the tailgate is closed against it. But with the CJ and it's downward opening tailgate the tailgate is closed first and the curtain is fastened into a channel on the top of the tailgate. (At least I think that's how it works)

As it stands now, with my soft top, I have to close the curtain, then close the gate, and unzip the curtains a bit on each side and reach in and close the latches of the tailgate. Anyone know how this is supposed to be remedied?

Do you still have the instructions? I'd like to read what it states in them.

Well, I've got the instructions and an instructional video. Maybe I'll watch the video to see if it addresses it. I've also got a question in to 4WD Hardware so maybe they'll come up with something.
