My 73 does not have power steering but does have the monsterous large steering wheel. I know that the bigger diameter wheel allows more leveraged input.....but at 6'0 I have a hard time getting in and out of the seat! Has anyone installed a smaller steering wheel with the manual steering? suggestions?

I did alot of situps, quit drinking Mountain Dew, and cut other junk carbs out of my diet. The wheel in my 75 is now further from my gut...

I was gonna say...I'm 6'1", about 198 to 200 lbs & have no problem getting into or out of my 74 equiped with the bus wheel. I also walk 2 miles or more almost every day (5 out of 7, anyway) watch what I eat & as of today, quit drinking beer (or anything else alcoholic, for that matter). :( I'm bummed...I love beer!

When I had the 70 CJ for sale (no P/S) it had a very small wheel on it & was a REAL BEAR to steer. When I replaced the old bus wheel (cracked) with a new aftermarket, what a difference. Was almost a joy to drive.

My advice, get some excercise, eat just a little better & stay with the big wheel.:)
